Edible Milwaukee: Cultivating our local food culture

It's a good mixture of old and new Milwaukee. Stories with cultural angles you wouldn't necessarily expect.

-Jen Ede, Publisher of Edible Milwaukee

Joining cities like Brooklyn, San Francisco and Austin, Milwaukee will soon have its own branch of the Edible Community magazines.

"In 2011, Edible Communities won a James Beard Publication award", says Ede. "It's like the Oscars of food." Now, Ede is excited to release the first Edible Milwaukee magazine to all of Southeastern Wisconsin.

Edible Milwaukee is a free quarterly magazine that will focus 100% on food and drink. Stories are written by local writers telling our food stories from planting to plating. Content will range from tips on how to grow your own food to historical food traditions of Milwaukee and Wisconsin to informative articles on food policies with local impact, Edible Milwaukee will be your guide to all things unique in Milwaukee's food scene.

The first issue will be available at various locations on May 18th. Information about Edible Milwaukee is found online at www.ediblemilwaukee.com.
