This week on the Seven O'Clock Sample, we are exploring the music of Summerfest. Dozens of national and international headliners are playing Milwaukee's lakefront this week. Opening day is Wednesday June 26th, and Diplo will be headlining the Miller Oasis. Diplo has been behind a ton of great artists, but his solo work is the focus of today's sample example.
In 2006, Diplo had a big hit with the song "Blow Your Head". The B-side to this single was an equally exciting hit called " Must Be A Devil".
The track features Marina Vello on the vocal sample, but the main melody and even the words come from the Pixies song "Hey".
