It has been some time since Milwaukee's producer Lorn dropped new material. From what I heard, he has been working on a score for a major video game (yet to be named). His most latest release on Ninja Tune records, Ask The Dust, is still in my personal rotation. A few days ago, Lorn announced he will be releasing a new EP on Ninja Tune entitled Debris on September 2. The EP will feature 4 brand new tracks that will be available digitally and on 10". Lorn on the recording process:
"I built kits and textures from field recordings," he says, "blended them with synths and guitars, ran them back and forth through tape, burned them through analog valves, recorded them playing inside of themselves… Really i wanted them to physically sound like they were picked out of some wreckage. Some lost caravan out in the desert with a crew of zero."
While you wait for this little gem from Lorn, he has shared Volume 3 of his Self-Confidence series. The series consists of “unfinished/won’t be finished/demo things." Vol 3. is available as a free download via Wednesday Sound. You can listen to the track "Hair By Debbie," which was featured on last week's Rhythm Lab Radio.
