The Only Samples That Matter

August 21st will be the late-great Joe Strummer's Birthday, so all this week on the Seven o'Clock Sample, we are exploring songs that sample The Clash.

The UK punk ensemble continues to influence bands and artists around the globe.  While many have gotten their style from Joe, some actually sampled their sound from his work.  This week we will look at a variety of different ways The Clash has been sampled.

In 1979, the B-side to the London Calling single was a song called "Armagideon Time".

This track was sampled by Towa Tei for the Deee-Lite song "Apple Juice Kissing".
