Sound Travels was an all African affair today and featuring in particular a pair of tunes from some Malian divas. I say divas in the turest sense, far removed from the implications diva-status has here. I'm talking about master-craft level talent and the poised and regal method of their art. In particular, I played some beutiful music from a pair of ladies whose music I enjoy a lot; Fatouma Diawara and the grand dame of Malian music Oumou Sangare. One young, the other more experienced, but both excellent.
