Hip Life? No this has nothing to do with hipsters; but it is a legit sound. A Sound born from a fusion of Ghanaian highlife, funk, hip hop and a dash of dancehall reggae. Though it started in Ghana, its seeds planted in the 80's as hip hop started to be felt all over the world and is a big part of Ghana's pop scene and West Africa in general. I love it. It's got a great pop vibe and was the basis for Sunday's mixtape. Missed it? No worries...
