This week on the Seven O'Clock Sample, we celebrate the late-great J Dilla. James (J-Dilla) Yancey would have tunred 40 this weekend. We lost Jay Dee way too early, but he left us with a lot of great music. His solo work got a lot of attention later in his life, but his career took off in the late 90s and early 2000s, as a producer for other artists. In 2000 he teamed up with Erykah Badu on her album MAMA's GUN.
