"Coming into work everyday in a mansion is such a treat," says Matt Burkowski, the VP of marketing at the WI Conservatory of Music. "We're in this space that's 115 years old. It's got hardwood floors, mantles...fireplaces in every classroom."
Burkowski is describing the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. The Conservatory started as a college that granted music degrees and is now a music school that has called the McIntosh-Goodrich Mansion home for the last 80 years. "The Conservatory is a part of the cultural heritage of this town," says Burkowski. "Just like the symphony or the art museum."
Classes range from beginner level to master, with something for everyone ages 4months to senior. Although the main campus for the Conservatory is on Prospect Avenue on Milwaukee's east side, they serve 1000's of music students through their satellite locations and in public, private and aprochial schools city-wide.
