MKE Fashion District: A Force to be Reckoned With

Milwaukee’s newest neighborhood is making the city a more fashionable place to live.

The Mke Fashion District popped up this past fall in downtown Milwaukee. At the center of the district is Third Coast Style, a shop that houses 34 local designers.

“This is not consignment it’s a beautiful boutique where the designers can work and collaborate to develop a third coast style,” said Patrice Procopio, the Artistic Director of Third Coast Style.

While the district is in it’s infancy, Procopio envisions a thriving, four-block area with murals, mannequins, runways and art.

Third Coast Style will celebrate the end of winter March 30 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., with their Spring Debut. The summer also promises a June 13 ribbon cutting to officially open up the neighborhood, and Fashion Fridays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., which will include high-end fashion vendors, music and themed runway shows.

The introduction of this district is a chance to “keep the talent in town” instead of loosing talented artists to the East and West Coasts.
