"I am truly happy. I don't have those demons following me around (anymore)" says Juanita Hallomen, client at The Healing Center in Walker's Point. She's spent the last year of her life attending sessions at The Healing Center, dealing with the repercussions of sexual abuse that started at the age of 2. A few months ago into her treatment, she had a breakthrough and now "feels like a weight has been lifted off."
The Healing Center provides free treatment to men and women that have survived sexual abuse at some time in their lives. "People don't have to live in isolation, silence and shame," says Maryanne Clesceri, the Executive Director of the Healing Center. "Everyone should have the opportunity to heal."
