This week's download comes from the English duo Slow Club featuring singer/multi-instrumentalist Rebecca Taylor and multi-instrumentalist Charles Watson. The duo just released their new album Complete Surrender via Wichita Recordings back in July. You have a week to grab their song "Suffering You, Suffering Me" from the album.
It's a stunning effort, focussing on Rebecca Taylor's soulful vocal. The opening lines recall Etta James' heartbroken 'I'd Rather Go Blind' before the arrangement switches into something from the Motown songbook. Rampaging to a grandiose finale, Taylor channels her inner Diana Ross to wrench out every nuance of emotion from the lyric.
