There are many reasons to visit Downtown Milwaukee. Dine out at one of our locally owned restaurants. Experience a performance at the theatre. Rock out to a live band or spend time at a museum. If you are strolling along the Riverwalk, you may notice the Milwaukee Rowing Club, practicing for their next big competition.
Since 1894, the Milwaukee Rowing Club has been a resource for professional and recreational rowers of all skill levels. In the last few years, the club has grown to include Marquette and MSOE's rowing teams as members. They also have a thriving high school "juniors" program. These different teams work together, sharing equipment, keeping membership costs affordable.
The Milwaukee Rowing Club Junior Team offers rowing instruction and regatta competition. Many of the younger members end up with college scholarship opportunities because of their time spent in with the Club. In 2013, the MRC opened it's doors to middle school students, teaching basic rowing techniques alongside the ideals of teamwork and fair competition.
