Soup kitchen gets full remodel thanks to local business

Christmas came early for one local nonprofit.

Scott Christian Youth Fellowship Center was the winner of the first ever " Soup Kitchen Makeover."  Sponsored by Fein Brothers, the community meal site received thousands of dollars worth of new kitchen appliances, replacing the broken and unsafe equipment it had been using.

The donation included new refrigerators, freezers, stoves, tables, cleaning supplies and various small wares.

And the need was especially dire -- since the Scott Center is a faith-based organization, it is not eligible for government funding.

The "makeover" comes as  Fein Brothers celebrates its 85th year in business.
