Every week, 88Nine talks to someone in the music scene about -- well, anything -- for a little less than a minute and a half. Even I don’t know what they’ll talk about. They pick from a handlful of sealed envelopes and have to answer the questions inside. We have categories of questions for musicians, producers, journalists, DJ’s, promoters and fans. They can talk as long as they’d like.
We edit to make sure it’s 88 seconds long. From “strangest gig ever” to “what was your first concert?” or “favorite condiment,” get a peek into the lives of the people who make, produce, promote and broadcast the great music you hear in Milwaukee.
Cold War Kids is one of my favorite bands. It's also I band that I feel has gotten better over time. I consistently enjoy each release more than the previous. "Hold My Home" is a focused record, with some of the best songs they've ever written ("First" is one of my favorite songs from 2014). It was a treat to run the 88 Seconds envelope gauntlet with Nathan, one of the brightest minds in music. He was also really nice. You don't forget those things when you love their music. He's going to have to be really nice at his dream dinner, because I imagine the guests he invited could get a little rowdy.
