This week's download is a remix of a track by emerging 22 year-old, Pittsburgh-based electronic DJ/producer Tom Holroyd better known as Torvvo. The remix was produced by Hanssen.
Torvvo has exhibited a chameleonic touch over his early productions, remixes, and DJ mixes, tackling everything from feel-good disco/house to punishing late-night warehouse techno. Light Traveling Beneath Me is his first proper label release and it once again boldly establishes Torvvo as an unpredictable and talented producer with a sharp ear for what works in the club. Built around instantly lovable synth chords that carry a dreamy, 80s-tinged vibe, “Light Traveling Beneath Me” patiently unravels with sharp, swinging B’more-influenced drum work and animated vocal samples, resulting in an unstoppable 132bpm body-mover.
