Public voting underway for MANDI awards

Think of it like the Oscars for Milwaukee nonprofits -- the  Milwaukee Awards for Neighborhood Development Innovation.

The MANDIs celebrate the "unsung heroes working to revitalize Milwaukee's most distressed neighborhoods," according to a press release.  It is attended by more than 700 civic leaders from the "nonprofit, philanthropic, public and private sectors."

14 organizations and individuals have been nominated as finalists in five categories, as decided by a panel of jurors assembled by LISC Milwaukee, the presenter of the MANDIs.

And, new this year, you can help decide who wins.

Follow this link to the official voting page, hosted by Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service.  You can watch short videos about each nominee and cast a vote for your favorite in each category.

The five award categories include the BMO Harris Bank Cornerstone Award, Northern Trust Navigator Award, PNC Trailblazer Award, State Farm Building Blocks Award, and Brewers Community Foundation Public Space Award.

The three finalists that get the most votes will each get a check for $1,000.  Public voting ends April 14.

The MANDI Awards take place at Potawatomi Casino on April 15, presented by LISC Milwaukee and US Bank.
