For the second year in a row, The Urban Ecology Center is declaring April "Earth Month" and offering dozens of opportunities to get connected to Milwaukee's natural environment.
Throughout the month at each of its three branches, the UEC will lead workshops, nature tours, and facilitate volunteer opportunities aimed at getting residents outside and engaged with nature.
It's all about shaking off that "winter chill" Milwaukeeans are well acquainted with, according to Senior Director of Education and Strategic Planning Beth Fetterley Heller.
"It's bustling here every single day," she said. "
Last year, more than 12,000 participated in UEC Earth Month programming, Fetterley Heller said.
Earth Month wraps up with the "Earth Day of Service," a daylong party happening simultaneously at all three branches on April 25.
