Click the podcast player above to listen in a 4th grade dance class held Doerfler Elementary School as part of Danceworks Mad Hot Ballroom and Tap Program.
The nonprofit organization hosts dance classes in 50 area schools -- many of them Milwaukee Public Schools -- fostering leadership, fitness, and teamwork.
Students spend an hour of their school day with a professional instructor, learning dance steps in pairs and in groups.
Then, after 12 weeks of practice, the program ends in with a performance and competition at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
The free and public event takes place at May 16.
