Making sweet music with ComposeMilwaukee

Present Music is working to connect Milwaukee's diverse community through music with a new project that turns you into the composer. ComposeMilwaukee is a course of six 90-minute workshops, creating music in a school, retirement home, bike shop and big corporation. Each session is run by a professional composer, as they guide participants to create an original piece of music using found objects or tools.

ComposeMilwaukee introduces participants to various styles of contemporary music by showing them that everyone can be a composer, even if you have no prior training. Groups from Pieper Power, The Urban Ecology Center, Reagan High School and St. John's on the Lake and more will play their final compositions at a free concert on June 7th at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
