For this week’s Urban Spelunking, OnMilwaukee’s Bobby Tanzilo takes us to – and on top of – the historic Pabst Brewery sign on 10th and Juneau.
The famous sign has arched above W. Juneau Ave, in some shape or form, since the late 1800s. The bright red block lettering spells P-A-B-S-T, functioning as a bridge between the old malt house and the brewing operation.
Right now, extensive redevelopment of the site is underway, including a bar and restaurant, hotel and the newly announced Pabst Brew Pub opening in summer of 2016.
