We’re beyond excited to share the all-new look for Radio Milwaukee!

With this brand extension, we’re elevating Radio Milwaukee to encompass our three music channels – 88Nine, HYFIN and – as well as our mission-driven stories, events and community programs. 

Under the Radio Milwaukee umbrella, we set up each program to grow audience and impact, all with the support of an organization that has 15 years of industry-changing experience. 

This extension of our brand represents the next phase of Radio Milwaukee. 

The new Radio Milwaukee branding retains our signature orange color and adds complementary cream, charcoal and blue colors to the palette. The logo system is robust and flexible, offering a variety of options for expression to work alongside our music, content and community outreach offerings. 

The logo system is made up of two central components: the Radio Milwaukee crescendo and Sidewalk Block, a custom typeface.

This is the Radio Milwaukee crescendo. 

Part soundwave and part heartbeat, the crescendo represents the organization’s forward momentum as an entity that is for and by all of Milwaukee. 

This is Sidewalk Block, a custom typeface for Radio Milwaukee. 

The all-caps, sans serif draws inspiration from Milwaukee’s hand-painted ghost signs and letterforms. The hand-rendered type brings in subtle flares and unique characteristics to the letterforms. 

The arched lockup and stamp treatments are inspired by the concrete sidewalk stamps and arched windows found throughout every neighborhood in Milwaukee.

Branding will not change for our Urban Alternative channel HYFIN, which launched earlier this year, and for the online/HD3 channel 414Music.FM, which launched in 2017 during the station’s 10th anniversary.
