HYFIN Anti-Gala

HYFIN Anti-Gala

Join us for our inaugural HYFIN ANTI-GALA at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at the Marcus Performing Arts Center. Radio Milwaukee’s largest fundraiser to date, it promises to be an evening full of inspiration, appreciation and celebration of the Black culture in Milwaukee.

Justin French

Madison McFerrin

Throughout her fruitful independent career, spanning three EPs and multiple collaborations, Madison McFerrin has earned accolades from the New York Times, NPR, The FADER, and Pitchfork, who named her a Rising Artist in 2018. The daughter of Grammy Award-winning Bobby McFerrin, her genre-bending work has led to Questlove dubbing her early sound “soul-appella.”

“Lush production and instrumentation accompany her angelic voice.” — AFROPUNK

“One of the most promising new faces within the [soulful r&b] genre over the past year.” — Hypebeast

Silas Short

Silas Short, who synthesizes influences from soul and classic R&B, is the latest phenomenon to come out of our city. The Milwaukee native and MPS High School of the Arts graduate began his career one night on Christmas Eve, when he DM’d one of his favorite artists. That DM landed him at Stones Throw Records, the same label that has worked with J.Dilla and MF Doom, and currently represents artist like Knowledge and Nx Worries.

"His voice drips like honey throughout the track — a perfect song for a weekend morning spent curled up with someone you love." - NPR

"Following his 2021 EP, Drawing, this next body of work leans into collaboration and promises to beam with Silas’ signature musicianship and production—fluid, soothing, thoughtful, and pristine." - Playback

Chef Jason Alston

Jason Alston is the owner of Heaven's Table and a Culinary Instructor at MATC. Chef Alston's dreamy food palace, Heavens Table BBQ MKE, opened five years ago. “It all started with me loving to watch my uncle and grandfather grill. Gradually, we came up with the idea and turned it into a passion that I hope to pass down to my sons.”
