Milwaukee’s concert scene has a lot going on, so we look at the shows coming up to find the ones you’ll look back on and be glad you went. Then we add them to our weekly Milwaukee Concert Picks.
Since 2021, Milwaukee rockers Tigera have been stealing the hearts (and dancing feet) of local festival-goers for their “Iron Maiden for your girlfriend” vibes. There’s plenty of headbanging, but there’s also plenty of pop hooks.
If you’re already a fan of the band, get ready to clear Thursday night’s schedule, because that’s when they plan to unleash not only a brand-new EP but a brand-new, Tigera-inspired beer. They’re both part of a “two releases for the price of one” show at Cactus Club, with Tigera at the top of a four-band lineup.
The new EP (called Be My Light) chronicles some complicated times for the group but ends up sounding triumphant nonetheless. To top things off, New Barons Brewing Cooperative will also unveil their latest offering, a Tigera collab called “Your Local Handsome Beer.” If that name needs explaining, we have a helpful companion article just for you about the beer (including an in-depth tasting review) and the album.
For now, just know that the beverage pairs nicely with a solid night of local music, which is exactly what you’ll get at Cactus Club, including sets from Clementine, Secret Menu and Horace Green. It all starts at 7 p.m. Thursday.
