Sam Hunt will play Fiserv Forum next March

Live Nation Entertainment

Ah, to be a country-music fan in the Milwaukee area. In the last two months, five major-venue shows have been announced among Summerfest, Fiserv Forum and AmFam Field. Monday morning made it six, as Sam Hunt set a March 15 concert at Fiserv as part of his “Outskirts Tour.”

The scheduled date finally gets Hunt to Milwaukee after his 2020 attempt was waylaid by the pandemic. Summerfest lined him up to play the amphitheater June 26 of that year as he promoted his album Southside, which eventually went platinum. COVID resulted in him postponing the tour and pushing the Summerfest appearance to Sept. 4 before he (and the festival) canceled things altogether.

The Outskirts Tour that will bring Hunt to Milwaukee next March is an extension of sorts, as he made his way around North America during the “Summer on the Outskirts Tour” that started back in July and wrapped up Sept. 9. Like that journey, the Outskirts Tour — including the Fiserv Forum show — will feature openers Brett Young and Lily Rose.

Right now, Southside is the newest album Hunt has to populate his setlist, although he released a couple singles recently: “Outskirts” and “Women in My Life.” A third, “Came the Closest,” is out this Friday.

As mentioned earlier, Hunt will be one of many vying for country-music fans’ concert dollars in the months ahead. If you want to grab tickets for his show, there’s an artist presale at 10 a.m. this Wednesday, Oct. 18 (join his mailing list to be a part of that one), and a general sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20.
