Lou Reed, David Bowie, Ian Hunter, John (Cougar) Mellencamp, Morrissey, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison. That's a pretty good cross section of the artists Mick Ronson has worked with, either as a studio guitarist, sideman or producer. So while you may not know the name (or you do!) you know his stellar work. He sadly passed away at just 46 years old. For today's Shadow, we'll highlight his work on Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" and get the cover from Bauhaus.
Writer's note: I feel like an idiot because in my haste to gush about MICK Ronson, I accidentally called him MARK Ronson in my outro on-air, even though I know the difference. These are things that keep me up at night.
I found a good video compilation that features Ronson, whose hair is second only to Mr. Bowie in fabulousness.
Here's the Bauhaus cover.
