While Gene Wilder had a rich, lengthy and varied Hollywood career, perhaps his most beloved film role was in the the 1971 film adaptation of Roald Dahl's book, "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory", which became "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory", in which Wilder played the titular character. Wilder had been battling Alzheimer's for the past three years and succumbed at the age of 83.
