Celebrate the music of 'Black Panther,' 'Do The Right Thing' and more tonight in Washington Park

Do The Right Thing

Milwaukee Film's Black Lens program has been celebrating the work of African-American filmmakers since 2014 with screenings, panel discussions and events.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m this evening, Black Lens will host a special performance celebrating the soundtracks from films like "Black Panther," "Do The Right Thing" and more in Washington Park.

The Milwaukee band Tha DMC crew will perform songs from a wide variety of black-directed and black-themed films. Tha DMC Crew features members from other Milwaukee bands, including performers who were previous members of local acts such as Black Elephant, Growing Nations, Cigarette Break and R&B Live.

The concert will take place at the Washington Park Bandshell, located at 1859 N. 40th St.

The Milwaukee Film Festival will take place Oct. 17 through Oct. 31.
