After 15 years, Ms. Lauryn Hill returns to Milwaukee this February

Ms. Lauryn Hill in Milwaukee

One of 2017's biggest concerts was announced today. Ms. Lauryn Hill will be performing at the Riverside Theater on Feb. 4.  The show is part of "The MLH Caravan: A Diaspora Calling! Concert Series. Tickets will go sale on Oct 21 at 12:00pm.

This will be her first show in Milwaukee since 2002 when she was played at the Marcus Amphitheater as part of the Smokin' Grooves tour. The tour also included acts like  Outkast, The Roots, Cee-lo and Truth Hurts.

Over the weekend, Ms. Lauryn Hill released a new version of "Rebel / I Find It Hard To Say" via Tidal. The song is an update to the 2002 version found on MTV Unplugged No. 2.0.
The concert series will bring aspects of the inaugural Diaspora Calling! Festival to the road. Each show will feature performances by artists from different parts of the African diaspora.

Of the concert series Ms. Hill says: "The MLH Caravan allows me to continue the theme of unity and celebration of the many facets of cultural and artistic beauty throughout the African diaspora while on tour this summer and fall. In these days of tension, tumult and transition, an exchange of this kind can yield direction, expression, understanding and empowerment as well as connection, self Love and appreciation that hopefully overflows into our respective communities."
