Steely Dan guitarist and co-founder Walter Becker passed away Sunday, September 3 rd. Becker met Donald Fagan at New York’s Bard College and began collaborating on music there before forming the Grammy award winning band, Steely Dan. Becker was only 67.

Chance the Rapper’s SocialWorks organization has raised $2.2 million for the Chicago Public Schools’ arts programs. The Chicago native announced their first-ever grants from the New Chance Fund will be spread throughout 20 schools in the Chicago School System, helping one of the most underfunded city arts programs in the country.
