We’re very proud to announce that Grammy-winner (and movie star) Gary Clark Jr. has made Milwaukee part of his upcoming tour with a Sept. 30 appearance sponsored by 88Nine Radio Milwaukee at The Riverside Theater.
It will be almost five years to the day since the genre-straddling artist last played the Riverside. In the years following that September 2017 show, Clark won three Grammy awards for his 2019 album, “This Land,” took on the film role of blues singer-songwriter Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup in Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis,” and was the music director for Jon Stewart’s acceptance of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall in April of this year.
Clark brings together rock, blues and soul to create a sound we feature on 88Nine and HYFIN, and that has fueled collaborations with everyone from Stevie Wonder to Foo Fighters. He’s currently putting together his fourth full-length album, so it wouldn’t be surprising to hear a few new tracks as parts of his Riverside show.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday at the Pabst/Riverside box offices and online.
