The boys from Milwaukee trio Diet Lite are the definition of indie rockers in that they bust their rear ends — on stage and off — to get their music into the ears of audiences everywhere. Those tireless efforts take many different forms, another of which will coalesce at The Rave as the vaunted venue hosts a wall-to-wall local lineup Sept. 7.
If the words “Diet Lite” and “all-local showcase” are bouncing around near each other in your brain already, it’s indubitably because the raucous triumvirate took part in another such concert just about a year ago at Turner Hall Ballroom. This time around, Diet Lite sit at the top of a bill that includes Modern Joey, The Keystones and Chapped Lips.
I’m not sure there’s ever a time when Max Niemann (vocals, guitar, bass), Kelson Kuzdas (vocals, bass, guitar) and Evan Marsalli (drums) aren’t live-show ready, but they should be particularly sharp considering their recent road adventures.
After a handful of Wisconsin dates in the spring, the band took off on an “east of the Mississippi” tour that started at Cactus Club right before Memorial Day and found its way to exotic locales like Cleveland, Brooklyn, Philly and Nashville before wrapping up in Chicago. More recently, they brought their emphatic sound to appropriately enough) the Generac Power Stage during Summerfest’s first weekend.
If you’re looking to snag tickets for the Sept. 7 show at The Rave, they’re on sale now online and at the venue’s box office.
