For Minneapolis artist Lizzo, confidence came from taking harsh words of a boy on the school bus and turning them into empowerment.
“All the media, sensory stimulus that we get, teach us what to love and what to like,” she says.”Hopefully more people like me will be so important that the media can’t shut us out. That’s all I can hope for.”
