Solange cancelled her upcoming NYE performance due to recent health issues. The singer was scheduled to perform as part of Johannesburg’s AfroPunk Festival in South Africa.
Holly Anderson, poet and designer who worked with American Post-punk band Mission of Burma, has died of cancer linked to her relief work at the World Trade Center site. Anderson designed art for Mission of Burma’s “Signals, Calls and Marches”, her poems also ended up as lyrics for their music. After 9/11, she worked at Respite 1, and emergency relief center where workers sifted through the toxic wreckage. She was only 62.
