My 50 essential artists reflect my experiences, my influences, personality and growth as a person. For example, my love of jazz from artists like Miles Davis and Coltrane comes from my father. The variety of genres on the list is symbolic of the friendships and relationships that I have made over my life living in a variety of cities. And a lot of these artists on the list established the foundation for my radio show Rhythm Lab Radio, which will be celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2020.
