If you listen to Rhythm Lab Radio regularly, you know we are a huge fan of the amazing jazz scene going on in London especially the music of Shabaka Hutchings. Hutchings has to be one of the hardest-working jazz musicians out there now.
He is the artist behind some of the amazing jazz groups coming out of the UK including Sons of Kemet and the groundbreaking The Comet is Coming. Now, Shabaka is set to release a new album from his other project Shabaka and the Ancestors on the iconic jazz label Impulse! Over 50 years, Impulse! has been home to amazing artists like Sonny Rollins, Quincy Jones, Max Roach, Ray Charles, Alice Coltrane, Keith Jarrett, Charles Mingus, Sun Ra and Pharoah Sanders.
Shabaka & the Ancestors will released their second album "We Are Sent Here By History" on March 13 and we featured the first single "Go My Heart, Go To Heaven."
