Jamaica is one of the world's musical hotbeds; but make no doubt about the fact that without the record label and studio known as Studio One, the story of Jamaican music would be far different. While we will never know what would've been, I do know that Studio One Records has had a lasting impact on Jamaican music. Through every era of raggae, from ska to rocksteady to roots to dancehall Studio One has been there. Studio One is to Jamaica what Motown is here in the States. So I thought it fitting to devote an hour of vintage, rare and classic reggae in tribute to one of my most beloved labels. Enjoy!
