On April 23, Valerie June returned to Milwaukee for a concert at the Pabst Theater.
Before that, she stopped by 88Nine Radio Milwaukee for a Studio Milwaukee session and interview.
The last time Valerie visited Studio Milwaukee was back in 2013. During the session, Valerie discussed her involvement with Michelle Obama's Turnaround Arts program. In 2017, Valerie visited students at Milwaukee's Lancaster school. The program uses music and art to improve school outcomes in struggling neighborhoods.
