If you look at it, clearly there’s no way to breathe in this thing. So, it’s a real commitment! —Piet Levy, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

There are lots of films that have music ties. Firstly, the Sound Vision program is a film series that features well-known music artists like Rick Springfield and The Sugarhill Gang as well as more obscure stories like an Icelandic woman who recorded 59 albums in 7 years. (She started at age 70 and is currently 77-years-old.)

The Fest will also host The Milwaukee Music Video Show (Friday, September 23 at 9:45pm at the Oriental Theater) which will feature local musicians and their beautifully crafted music videos. It'll be a moving experience to see these stories evolve from computer screen to big screen. Piet Levy will be there, moderating discussion.

Piet will be moderating another discussion on Thursday, September 29 at the Avalon for a film 6-years in the making about Smart Studios from Madsion, Wisconsin.

So, CHVRCHES is coming this Sunday to the Riverside Theater to do their first Milwaukee show. The most excited person to hear this news is the "CHVRCHES Gorilla" -- the band's biggest fan, a man from Kenosha whose Twitter handle is the same name. He wears gorilla suits to their concerts.

This Friday, Unlooped returns. This is the "brain child" of Tarik Moody -- a collaboration of artists uniting and creating under a certain theme. Current theme is centered around jazz in our city. Unlooped is a unique way to continually push the envelope on what’s going on in our local music scene. Event is at Company Brewing, Friday, September 23.
