October is typically the time of the year when outdoor music wraps up for the season in Milwaukee. But there's actually a lot of outdoor music this weekend. There are three notable outdoor festivals. On Friday there's the Illuminate MKE Festival at Veteran's Park, and then on Saturday there's the Beet Street Harvest Festival outside Cactus Club and Flannel Fest at Boone & Crockett.
We discuss the unusual experience of seeing live music outdoors this late in fall, as well as the upsides (the music tends to start earlier). The lineups at these festivals offers some real diversity, too. And don't sleep on the Beet Street afterparty: Browns Crew has some surprises lined up.
Also of note this weekend: On Saturday, Atomic Records is coming back -- but just for a day. Abby Jeanne will be recreating the experience of the beloved record shop, including its iconic sign, at Hi-Fi Cafe as part of her single release party.
