Milwaukee musicians are going all in with these Halloween shows

This week on Tap'd In, we're talking about one of our favorite October traditions: Halloween concerts. There are several big ones planned for the next week and a half, including a great one tonight at The Cooperage festively titled The Blood Bash, which will double as a release show for Valerie Lighthart's new EP "Part II: The Witch." In addition to music from Lighthart, LaFond, Amanda Huff's new band You Win !!! and DJ Shawna, The Blood Bash will also feature vendors, a photo booth and tarot readings from Tarot D'Amore.

Vincent Van Great and Amanda Huff

The Blood Bash isn't the only Halloween-themed involving Amanda Huff this month. She's also playing a release show for her excellent new EP with rapper Vincent Van Great, "Troublemakers." It'll take place Friday, Oct. 29, at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery and, in addition to music from Black Challenger and American Progress, it'll feature a costume contest.

Other Halloween shows this month include Whore-a-Ween at Cactus Club on Oct. 29, featuring the darkwave acts Pixel Grip, Kanga and Rare DM, and a costumed show from Cullah, NilexNile, Funk Summit Bass Team and Complex Machine at the Back Room at Colectivo on Halloween night, Oct. 31.

We also recommend a show that isn't technically a Halloween bill, but does take place at The Rave, a venue that always goes all out with its Halloween decorations. It's the $uicideboy$ show this Sunday night, Oct. 24, featuring an absolutely fantastic opener, Turnstile, the Baltimore punk band that just released one of this year's best albums, "Glow On."

Hear us talk about all those shows and more on this week's episode below.
