May the Fourth ... bring you to State of Sound! Get tickets now.

If you've got a ticket to a canceled or postponed concert, here's where your refund stands

Piet wrote a great article for JSonline called " Got tickets to a canceled or postponed concert? Here's what you need to know." It's a handy guide, since getting refunded isn't always clear-cut.

Right not most big concerts fall into three categories. One is canceled concerts. These are clear-cut: Ticket holders will get refunds for those, and will probably be refunded automatically The second is rescheduled concerts. For these shows, ticket holders may request a refund, or they can roll over their tickets to the new date.

Elton John was supposed to play Fiserv Forum this month, but that show has been rescheduled for 2021. A concrete date has not been set

But most concerts right now fall under the category "postponed." These shows are in a kind of limbo -- the artist intends to play the shows, but ticket holders will have to wait and see what happens. Ticket holders can try to request a refund, but it may be more difficult. This has caused some backlash for Ticketmaster, Piet says.

Things are a mess right now, so it may take a while for some of this to get figured out.

Hear us discuss all this and how smaller venues are addressing these ticket issues. Venues like Cactus Club are requesting that ticket holders hang on to their tickets and consider them a kind of donation to help get the venue get through this time. Small clubs are banking on ticket holders not requesting refunds, Piet says.
