Basia Bulat has become one of Canada’s most conspicuous talents. Over the course of five albums, she has brought together an intrinsic contemporary sound with a love of classic folk, country and R&B songwriting. In addition to her powerhouse voice, Bulat is an accomplished Juno Award winning multi-instrumentalist, recording and performing on electric guitar, piano, ukulele, autoharp, bass and charango. She often appears solo in gigantic halls, winning over crowds with stomping feet and two mighty lungs – But her massive talent has also been recognized at scale: her songs have been adapted for major performances with symphony orchestras, tapped for prestigious tributes to Leonard Cohen and The Band and has shared stages with acts including Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The National, Arcade Fire, St. Vincent and Sufjan Stevens.
