At the Ballot Box: Stories Behind the Right to Vote
August 31 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Another election is coming up on November 3rd, 2020, which means it is time for you to exercise your right to vote. But have you ever really thought about what the right to vote means? Or how you would feel if your right to vote was taken away? Or if you had to demonstrate your commitment to this country in order to vote? Or if you were a member of a marginalized community voting for the first time?
On Monday, August 31st from 7-8pm, we’ll hear from four local Milwaukeeans about their journey to the right to vote and what voting means to them — a former felon who gained the right to vote back, a naturalized citizen, and two young voters exercising their right to vote for the first time! Our guests will share their stories in an intimate setting with the intention of demonstrating to our audience how important exercising the right to vote is.
You will emailed a Zoom link to the email address you register with, so be on the lookout for that email! That is the only way you will be able to access the event.
