88Nine’s Band Together will celebrate the power of women in music this Friday

We will be featuring the music of Aretha Franklin, Jill Scott, Nina Simone, Annie Lennox and The Eurythmics, Ella Fitzgerald, Carole King, Sade, Bjork, Yoko Ono, Beyonce, Celia Cruz, and Queen Latifah with our own personal spin.

This event is curated by Dave Wake from Milwaukee’s own De La Buena!

Food will be provided by MKE Localicious (included in your ticket price) and a cash bar will be available – thanks Stone Creek Coffee!

Support for Cultural Commons’ 3rd Annual Band Together comes from Aurora Health Care, Argosy Foundation, Heil Family Foundation, Zilber Family Foundation, Greater Milwaukee Foundation, and Nast Family Foundation.

A wide variety of Milwaukee artists will take on the music of Sade, Beyonce, Nina Simone, Bjork and more

88Nine Radio Milwaukee hosts our third Annual Band Together celebrating the power of women in music. We’ve created a super band of musicians from all corners of Milwaukee to help us demonstrate the force that is WOMEN. Our all-star super band will put their own spin on a variety of musical genres created by women.

Amanda Huff, B-Free, Robin Pluer, Adi Armour, Jen Citron, D’Amato, Treccy MT, Ladi Wake, Holly Haebig, Liviah Wake, and Carl Nichols will be backed by our house band featuring Kim Zick on drums, Jenna Rades on guitar, Cory Coleman on bass, Jay Anderson on tenor saxophone, Steph Lippert on trombone and keys, Carl Nichols on guitar, Peter Roller on slide guitar and ukulele, with special appearances by Dave Wake.
