Grand Opening of the ZIP MKE Gallery at Radio Milwaukee
May 4 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The city of Milwaukee is made up of 28 different ZIP Codes — numbers that divide us into communities and neighborhoods. With that neighborhood identity often comes lines that divide an already segregated city. In response to these divides, Dominic Inouye created ZIP MKE to change our perspective, then change our perceptions of ZIP Codes different than our own.
ZIP MKE’s gallery will have it’s Radio Milwaukee GRAND OPENING on Saturday, May 4th from 4-7pm at Radio Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point Studio — 220 E. Pittsburgh Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53204. This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC — kids are also encouraged to attend!
This gallery and opening is brought to you by 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, ZIP MKE, and Jane’s Walk MKE as a part of Radio Milwaukee’s Cultural Commons and Community Stories Live programming. Cultural Commons and Community Stories Live are supported by Aurora Health Care, Zilber Family Foundation, Argosy Foundation, Heil Family Foundation, Nast Family Foundation, and Greater Milwaukee Foundation.
Food will be provided on a first come, first served basis and a cash/credit bar will be available from Stone Creek Coffee.
Join us to celebrate our city and unite citizens from all of Milwaukee’s zip codes.
