Climb Out of the Darkness MKE 2019

Climb Out of the Darkness MKE 2019 is an inclusive event for moms, moms-to-be, parents, relatives, kids, family and friends. It is a place for us all to come together, support one another and fight against the effects of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), such as postpartum depression.
Postpartum Support International – Wisconsin Chapter and Moms Mental Health Initiative are partnering to host this event and all funds raised by Team Milwaukee will go to help these organizations further their missions of providing peer support, educating families and professionals and advocating for perinatal mental health. We are grateful to The Womb Room for share their space for this event!
The “climb” is actually a walk and begins at The Womb Room MKE (3920 W National Ave, West Milwaukee, WI 53215) and will continue along a portion of the Hank Aaron State Trail. The route is approximately 1.65 miles. The walk will be a casual, stroller friendly, go-at-your-own pace type of vibe (no training necessary)!
What time does the walk start? – The event begins at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 21, and the walk will begin at 10:30 am.
Do I have to walk? – NO. If walking isn’t your thing, we welcome cheerleaders too! Plus, In addition to the walk, some of the other events that will be part of climb day include: live music, snacks, face-painting, raffle, a craft and important information from our sponsors.
How do I register? – You can register by following this link to our main, Team Milwaukee page: https://postpartum.z2systems.com/teamMilwaukee. Click on “join team” to create your account. Please make sure that on the last tab labeled, “team”, that you are being added to “Milwaukee Wisconsin’s Team Page.” After you register, you will be emailed a waiver that must be completed to participate. While registration will be available the day of the climb, registering in advance is preferred to help us get an accurate headcount and to help us plan event activities accordingly.
