Glow-in-the-dark 80’s Paint n’ Sip Fundraiser
January 11, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm$35.00
We’re leveling up your paint and sip night! Take everything you love about the traditional paint and drink experience (namely, the crafts and alcohol) and add more booze, black lights, glow-in-the-dark paint, punk rock videos, happy little 80s instructional videos, and an actual instructor – and welcome to the Franklin Public Library’s “Paint! Sip! Glow, dude!” fundraiser. All the proceeds go towards our dope programming and giving our communities things like information and a place to take their kids in winter.
Doors open at 7:00pm on January 11 (we made sure to schedule it before college starts back up) and the painting begins at 7:30pm. We’ll start by following an instructional video from the 80s (don’t worry – we’ll be terrible together). After that, a real art instructor will lead us through another painting, hopefully one that won’t turn out as terribly as the first. Realistically though, they might all be bad, especially when the alcohol kicks in. In between these sessions, we’ll play music videos from the 80s and 90s on our big screen. Expect an epic Queen sing-a-long.
Tickets are $35 and include one alcoholic drink and 2 black canvases. More canvases will be available for $5 should you choose to paint caricatures of your friends or your cat, Xena, between landscapes; and additional alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase.
80s and 90s costumes are highly encouraged. Or dress like your favorite artist. We’re partial to Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael but you do you.
This event is 21+. Sorry, kids.
