Hip-Hop Week MKE
August 20, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - August 26, 2018 @ 8:00 pm
Radio Milwaukee is participating by hosting a discussion with Spotify’s Dissect podcast host, Cole Cuchna for an event titled “Dissecting Kendrick Lamar: exploring To Pimp A Butterfly.” On Season One of Dissect, Cuchna “dissects” each song on Kendrick Lamar’s album, “To Pimp A Butterfly,” exploring themes from Kendrick’s life as well as social justice issues such as police brutality, systemic racism and environmental inequality. Our program director Jordan Lee will serve as our interviewer and moderator, discussing these themes with Cole Cuchna and inviting the audience to weigh in on the topics we discuss. We will also leave room for individual conversations with Cole and other attendees.
The full schedule includes concerts, networking, a local showcase, financial intelligence presentations, health and nutrition talks, a job fair, a documentary screening and parties.
