Virtual Class: Jams and Jellies

Learn how to keep seasonal fruits through winter by preserving them as jams, jellies, and chutneys. We’ll prepare a batch of Strawberry Jam. Handouts with instructions, recipes, tips and a supply list will be provided. This course will occur online.

Materials Needed for Class: At least six 8 oz. canning jars w/ rings and new lids. 7 c. granulated sugar, 8 c. fresh strawberries, bottled lemon juice, 1 pkg (1.75 oz.) powdered fruit pectin, canning kettle w/ rack, jar lifter, butter knife/chopstick, small saucepan, medium to large stockpot, spatula/wooden spoon, measuring cups/spoons, kitchen towel, 9×13 casserole dish or something comparable, pot to heat hot water or an express kettle.

This event will occur online, led by Annie Wegner LeFort, founder/owner of The Mindful Palate. Upon registration, you will receive a link to the Zoom session and any other important information via registration email. Look for this email Friday night at 5pm, before the Saturday session.
