There’s a stirring truth in what could be the unofficial anthem of the COVID-19 pandemic and its call-to-action lyrics through life’s most challenging times: “Lean on me, when you’re not strong / And I’ll be your friend / I’ll help you carry on.”
The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and 88Nine Radio Milwaukee invite Milwaukeeans and others, wherever they are, to safely light a candle or shine a light, and sing “Lean On Me” to share love and gratitude for our healthcare workers.
Here’s how to participate:
1. Pull up the lyrics (if you need them): https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/billwithers/leanonme.html
2. tune in to 88Nine at 8 p.m. online, on your smart speaker, through our mobile app or on the FM dial. We’ll play “Lean on Me” by Bill Withers at 8 p.m.!
3. Grab a candle or light, follow along with the lyrics and record yourself solo or with a group of friends. Livestream/upload your videos with #MKESINGALONG.
